Project Management

The COMPASS project structure

The goal of the COMPASS project is to lead developments along four main axis :

  • AO Modeling
  • Real-time control for AO
  • Low-latency image acquisition for AO
  • AO science and E-ELT instruments design

Naturally, the project structure follows these axis with four associated tasks for which the developments will be led in parallel across the partnership. Additionally, two supervising tasks, namely science and infrastructures, aim at providing scientific requirements as well as software and hardware frameworks definitions for the project. The science task will regroup preparatory studies for the instruments design task while the hardware procurement and maintenance is included in the infrastructures task. On top of this structure, a project management task will regroup the overall project administration, from the requirements definition to the scientific exploitation of the platform, and define and conduct the dissemination strategies.
